ECE 2005, 7th European Congress of Endocrinology in Goteborg

Dear colleagues and friends,
It is a great pleasure for us to welcome you all to Goteborg and the 7th European Congress of Endocrinology in Goteborg, Sweden, 3-7 September 2005.
At this congress we expect delegates from all European countries to meet and exchange experiences with other colleagues from all over the world. The 7th ECE is an all Scandinavian event, organized in collaboration by the endocrine societies in Denmark, Norway and Sweden
The main scientific programme is very exciting and should attract young doctors and scientists in training as well as established researchers. A wide range of subjects will be covered and the plenary lectures are aimed at giving overviews and updates on recent research.
During the congress, a trade exhibition will take place where the main companies working in the field of endocrinology will participate. Company-sponsored morning and evening symposia will be arranged.
Furthermore, all delegates are invited to submit abstracts for poster and oral presentations.
The congress venue will be in central Goteborg within walking distance of hotels, cultural and commercial centres and also easily accessible by public transport. There are a little more than 800.000 inhabitants in the Goteborg area. Many world-famous companies originate from and/or have their head offices here: Ericsson, Hasselblad, Nobel Biocare, AstraZeneca, SKF and Volvo.
Goteborg is also a university city with more than 55.000 students at the Goteborg University and Chalmers University of Technology. The Nobel Prize in Medicine/Physiology 2000 was awarded to Professor Arvid Carlsson at Goteborg University.
The sea is the soul of Goteborg and the Congress Harbour Party will be held at Kajskjul 8 located at the waterfront in the harbour. You will also have the opportunity to discover Liseberg Amusement Park, by far the most famous tourist attraction in Sweden.
